N12 accident leaves 12 people injured

Paramedics say the exact circumstances surrounding the accident are not yet know

Paramedics transported 12 people to hospital after a collision between a light motor vehicle and a bus on January 19.

The accident happened on the N12 highway near the Daveyton off-ramp

Russel Meiring, ER24 spokesperson, said paramedics arrived at a nearby farm were the victims were transported to.

“Upon assessment, paramedics found that 12 people from the bus had sustained minor to moderate injuries,” Meiring said.

Paramedics treated the patients and thereafter transported them to Sunshine Hospital for further treatment.

The exact cause of the incident is not yet known, but local authorities were on the scene for further investigation.
