Manager Vicky Finnemore said the Fore the Boys Golf Club is raising funds to build the structure with six kennels.
“We plan on proving a highly sterile environment for puppies aged six weeks and older,” she said.
Finnemore said younger puppies will be accepted if they are with their mother.
She explained the kennels are needed as puppies are extremely susceptible to diseases and can easily be infected in normal kennels as they are not vaccinated.
“We will have three kennels on each side of the building with an entrance and pathway in the middle.
“We will also have a bathing station,” she said.
Fore the Boys chairperson Tim Smit said provisionally the date was in mid-March but it had moved up to mid-February.
“We want to get it done as soon as possible,” he said.
He said the club chose the SPCA as their beneficiary because animals are close to their heart and he said animals need love too.
“We jumped at the opportunity to give the puppies a good start to get adopted,” he said.
Four members of the Fore the Boys golf school are donating money from their businesses.
Those who would like to donate can phone Smit on 083 352 0007.
