Help keep newborn babies warm

Put a smile on new mothers’ faces.

The Tambo Memorial Baby Pack Network (Benoni) needs your help to provide warmth to newborn babies and provide smiles to new mothers.

The network distributes baby packs at the Tambo Memorial Hospital, as one of the outreach programmes by the Christ Community Church, in Northmead.

“This initiative is in response to a dire need, which has resulted in babies going home wrapped in newspapers and plastic bags,” said Christa Craddock, pastor at Christ Community Church.

They are in need of the following donations:

• babygrows (size zero to three or three to six months);

• baby vests (three to six months);

• beanies and socks;

• blankets;

• sanitary towels;

• cotton wool, Vaseline, baby soap and face cloths; and

• a personal note of encouragement.

The baby packs can be made up for girls, boys or in neutral colours. Approximately 50 packs are delivered weekly.

“The hampers are given to new mothers personally and our volunteers share with them in prayer, blessing and encouragement.”
