Girls just want to have fun, and Chrizela Squire, Danja Halgryn, Chantellé Els and Anelle Myburgh were indeed in the mood for fun, friends, laughter and a good evening.
The Benoni van Rhyn Lions Club hosted a sold-out donkey derby at Hoërskool Hans Moore on the evening of March 3.
The event was all fun and games, which made it an enjoyable evening for all who bought tickets to bid on a donkey.
Don’t worry, though, there were no real donkeys, just a group of talented people who got together to decorate a few mops.
The donkeys were then placed in a race and 40 per cent of the profit was given to the people who bet on the donkey that won.
The rest of the profit was given to the school.
The profit was R6 710.
Good food and great company are all these three couples need. Madaleine and Dawid Pretorius (left, sitting and standing) enjoyed an evening out with their friends, Rika and Graham Patrick and Vanessa and Anton le Roux.Is it Superman? No, it is just four men who are in a super mood to have fun. Michael-Dean Smit (15) stands with Michael Smit, Markus Els and Francois Squire.
The donkey derby team (Benoni van Rhyn Club members) stand with the hand-made donkeys (mops). They are: Jill Stockwell, Janis van der Heiden, Jane Sadler, Vivien Hassett, Jill Walden and Peter van der Heiden.
