Western Extension murder and attempted murder case postponed

The case was postponed to June 26.

The murder and attempted murder case against Charles Barker (40) was postponed to June 26 in the Benoni Magistrate’s Court on May 25.

Barker, who was on parole for murder, was arrested on March 5 after allegedly stabbing Andrianne Coke (21) to death and stabbing her mother (his fiancée), Betinah Coke, at their home in Kemston Avenue, Western Extension.

The incident happened at about 7.30am and Andrianne was declared dead on the scene.

The case has been postponed for further investigation and is pending a decision by the director of Public Prosecutions to transfer the matter to the Pretoria High Court.
