Enter your artwork for fine arts awards

Calling all aspiring artists to enter.

The City of Ekurhuleni, in collaboration with the Lizamore and Associates Mentorship Programme, is calling on all artists to enter the 31st edition of the Thami Mnyele Fine Arts Awards.

All artworks must be ready and suitable for exhibition.

The judges will select an exhibition of the best artworks.

The artworks must have been completed in the 12 months preceding the close of entries date (August 23).

Entry fee is R50 per artwork entered.

“We encourage artists who specialise in contemporary fine art to start preparing their work,” said MMC for Community Services Dora Mlambo.

“This is to allow everyone an opportunity to participate in the competition by submitting impressive artworks.”

The submission dates for artworks are as follows:

• From August 21 to 23 between 9am and 7pm at the Coen Scholtz Recreation Centre, Mooifontein Road, Birchleigh North, Kempton Park.

• Boksburg Library on August 21, between 9am and 4pm.

• Springs Art Gallery on August 21 and 22 between 9am and 7pm.

• Katlehong Art Centre, 203 Sontonga Street, Phooko Section, on August 22 between 9am and 4pm.
