Learners can walk a mile in their new shoes
ANC member Georgina Magora said some of the learners were wearing broken shoes and they hope this donation will help to ease the winter chill.
Members of the African National Congress (ANC) from Ward 110 in Daveyton donated 18 pairs of school shoes to learners at Unity Secondary School on June 15.

Unity Secondary School deputy principal Buyile Zondo said they appreciate the donation.
“Georgina Magora has been sponsoring the learners with stationery and uniform for the past three years,” said Zondo
“She even offers her house for the learners to study at when they don’t have a place to study, and has even been involved in cleaning the school premises.”
English teacher, Gloria Sibande said they value the partnership with Magora.
“She has touched our hearts.
“As a teacher, it’s so sad to realise, through essays they write, about some of the things that these learners go through,” said Sibande.
“They become so helpless when they have to stand in front of other learners with torn shoes.
“When these learners can see that they are not different from others because they now too have new shoes, they can perform better in school.”
