Bring-A-Thing to Hospice Benoni

Bring-A-Thing is an initiative where tables were placed outside or on the school premises and anything could be donated.

The annual Hospice East Rand ‘Bring-A-Thing’ initiative took place at several schools for the first time this Mandela Day.

Although the initiative has been active since 2010 between St Dunstan’s College and Hospice East Rand, this year Benoni High School, St Benedict’s College Bedfordview and St Andrew’s School for Girls joined the campaign.

“We collect donations of second-hand items that we can use to stock our charity shops across the East Rand,” said Liaison Officer at Hospice, Laura Kirsten.

Apart from the Bring-A-Thing initiative, St Dunstan’s learners also dedicated their day to doing good for the community by putting on a show for the elderly, making sandwiches to give away and more.
