The EMPD Social Crime Prevention Unit members and various stakeholders donated blankets, food, goodies for the children and four-plate stoves at the Simamisa Orphans Care, in Kingsway, on July 18.
Their efforts also included cleaning the home and preparing breakfast and lunch.
EMPD spokesperson chief superintendent Wilfred Kgasago said when the officers realised that the geyser was also malfunctioning, they swiftly secured an electrician who then proceeded to fix it.
