Delay of postmortem results causes postponement of murder case

The man will remain in custody until his next appearance.

The murder case against Siyabuyela Ngqeme has been postponed to August 31 at the Benoni Regional Court due to the delay of postmortem results.

The 29-year-old Ngqeme made his third appearance on August 21.

On July 30, Ngqeme allegedly stabbed Zanele Rozani (28) to death in his shack in Daveyton.

Ngqeme was arrested on same day of the murder.

Benoni SAPS spokesperson Captain Nomsa Sekele said said Rozani was allegedly dragged by Ngqeme into his shack where he attacked and stabbed her.

“It is alleged that Ngqeme did not take kindly to the deceased refusing to get back into a relationship with him,” said Sekele.

Ngqeme is also facing charges of domestic violence.
