Ladies encouraged to care for one another

Celebrating 20 years of existence

The Garland Ladies Luncheon Club celebrated their 20th birthday on September 27 at Ebotse Country and Golf Estate.

Keeping with the theme of spring, the venue was decorated with fresh flowers, colourful balloons and cupcakes with karaoke.

Immediate past president, Terry Henkin, talked about the highlights of her performance as president of the organisation.

“It has been a very special year,” she said.

“This was a dream year for me; it was my one moment in time.”

“A special thanks goes to my family for supporting me throughout the year,” she said.

She thanked her committee for all their hard work.

Henkin handed over the reins to Margie Kostelac, elected president for the second time.

“Terry you have done a sterling job over the past year, we love you,” said Kostelac.

Kostelac thanked the club for having the confidence to bring her back as president.

“I appreciate you trusting me again as the Garland ladies.” she said.

Kostelac encouraged the women to practise kindness towards each other.

She said the women should be happy and look for positivity in everything.

Kostelac handed the founding and committee member Rhoda Toker a gift for her 20 years of service.

The club held their AGM on the same day to show the club’s progress over the year 2017/18.
