James Lythgoe from Benoni publishes third book

His first book, Up Is The Best Place To Be, was published in 2007 and his second book, Not From The Pulpit, which is not a religious book he highlighted, was published in 2015.

It took only eight months for Farrarmere resident James Lythgoe (75) to write his third published book When The Devil Drives.

When The Devil Drives is contemporary adult fiction about a group of three friends as they journey through trails of life in different directions across the world. The raging fires of passion and personal ambition are what divide the story which concludes a reunion with a bitter end.

James is a retired engineer that draws his book ideas from life and people around him. In 2013 he won a Benoni-themed short story competition for his story The Ghosts Of Writers Past.

“Winning the competition is what encouraged me to continue writing,” he said

He is a husband and a father to two grown children. When he is not writing he enjoys playing golf.

James said, “I am writing poetry and trying to get that published for now.”
