Great first day for Grade One learners at IEB schools

The youngsters were excited to start their first day of school.

Little ones at St Dunstan’s Preparatory and Shanan Christian schools woke up on January 16 and prepped for their first day of Grade One.

The youngsters put on a uniform for the first time and hurried off to meet their teachers and peers.

Headmaster at St Dunstan’s, Craig Mc Ilrath, said 68 learners were accepted and the staff is delighted to be a part of the foundation phase for these little ones.

He added that St Dunstan’s focuses on finding the unique potential of each individual and unlocking it.

Linette Pearson, who is the headmistress at Shanan Christian School, said 17 learners were accepted.

Pearson said each class consists of no more than 18 learners because each child is given the required attention – and she hopes that this year, again, the Grade Ones will ‘blossom’.
