27-year sentence for convict (28)

He is serving his sentence at Modderbee Prison.

Lehlohonolo Moses Moshima was sentenced to 27 years for attempted murder, robbery with aggravating circumstances, possession of unlicensed firearm and ammunition on January 11 at the Benoni Regional Court.

The 28-year-old will spend five years imprisonment for being in possession of an unlicensed firearm, 15 years for robbery with aggravating circumstances, five years for attempted murder, and two years for being in possession of ammunition.

He will effectively serve 20 years in prison with seven years of the sentence suspended.

Puftontein SAPS spokesperson Const Justice Ramaube said on October 19, 2017, Moshima shot Gift Khoza four times before robbing him of a white NP200 bakkie.

The incident occurred at Mina Nawe Extension Five, Putfontein.

Khoza was taken to a hospital and later discharged.

On May 10, 2018, Moshima was arrested at Elandskraal in Limpopo by Det-Const Tebogo Koko.

“His arrest came after Moshima received bail for robbery in Elandskraal,” said Ramaube.

“Upon his arrest, he was found to be in possession of the car keys matching those of the stolen white NP200 bakkie.”

He is serving his sentence at Modderbee Prison.
