Crystal Park police are investigating a case of murder after a 66-year-old man was shot dead at his house on January 28 in Keimond Street, Crystal Park.
Crystal Park SAPS spokesperson, Const Alex Mokete, said it is alleged that two men driving in a grey Sedan went into the man’s house to deliver a package.
“The two pressed the intercom button at the gate and the deceased’s daughter went to answer it. The men told her they have a delivery for her father,” said Mokete.

“She went inside the house and called her father. He said he wasn’t waiting for a parcel but he will go look.”
Mokete said as the deceased was walking towards the gate, one of the alleged suspects took out a firearm and pointed it at him.
“When the man ran back to the house, one of the suspects jumped the gate and starting shooting at the deceased,” he said.
“As the deceased was trying to close the kitchen door, the man overpowered him and shot him in the head and leg.”
The man was declared dead by the paramedics on scene and the suspects fled the scene.
