Sifiso Brian Sibiya (27) was sentenced to 15 years’ imprisonment on a charge of robbery with aggravating circumstances, in the Benoni Regional Court on February 4.
Putfontein SAPS spokesperson Const Justice Ramaube explained that on February 23, 2017, Sibiya and an accomplice, since deceased, forcefully entered a house and threatened the family with a gun before stealing valuables and a vehicle.

Sibiya was arrested on March 3, 2017, and police recovered the valuables.
He will serve his sentence at Modderbee Prison.
