Etwatwa man sentenced to life in prison for murder

The man is serving his sentence at Modderbee prison.

Mandla Inama was sentenced to life imprisonment for murder at the Benoni Regional Court on February 11.

On February 21, 2015, Mandla hit the deceased with a spade on his head during an altercation in Etwatwa West.

Etwatwa SAPS spokesperson Capt Ramothakhi Maqabe said a case of assault GBH (grievous bodily harm was opened, which was later changed to murder when the man succumbed to his injuries in hospital.

The 33-year-old was arrested on the same day as the incident.

He is serving his sentence at Modderbee prison.

Etwatwa station commander Col Molatelo Maoto applauded Capt Peter Mathebula for a job well done with the investigation.
