One hundred and fifty-nine children may go to bed hungry from February 25 if Project Feed The Children (PFTC) is unable to provide their daily food because stock worth approximately R40 000 went up in flames on February 19.
CEO of PFTC Dumisani Madi said the incident took place when a car which was parked next to the storehouse caught on fire.

“The fire spread to the storehouse and burnt all the non-perishable goods we had,” he explained.
“We only have enough food to sustain the children until February 22.
“Over 800 food tins were burnt.
“We were supposed to give 34 food parcels to grannies on February 20 and it was so sad to tell them that the food burnt.”
PFTC provides breakfast, lunch and a snack for the 159 children in Cloverdene and Daveyton on a daily basis.
Food supplies such as mealie meal, oil, tin foods, rice and more are needed from anyone who is willing to donate to the NPO.
St Dunstan’s College will be open from 8am to 5pm for food items to be dropped off at the security guardhouse.
