EMPD nabs two for drugs in Daveyton Hostel

The duo is expected to appear in the Daveyton Magistrate’s Court soon.

Two suspected drug dealers were arrested at the Daveyton Hostel by EMPD members after they received a tip-off on March 1.

“The information was speedily acted upon which resulted in the arrest of two men found in possession of narcotics valued at about R4 000,” said EMPD spokesperson chief superintendent Wilfred Kgasago.

“The block where the peddling is normally conducted was raided.

“The first suspect was found in possession of five full mandrax tablets, one half mandrax tablet, 25 pieces of “rock” and 26 packets of nyaope, valued at R3 500.

“In addition, R750 in cash was confiscated from the suspect.”

Kgasago said the second suspect was found with a piece of “rock” valued at R50.

The arrested pair, aged 27 and 35, were detained at Daveyton Police Station, charged with the possession of and dealing in narcotics.

They are expected to appear in the Daveyton Magistrate’s Court soon.
