Youth Summit on Human Rights Day
The summit focused on learners with low self-esteem who are struggling to get their grades up and children from disadvantaged homes or communities.
The John Wesley Community Centre, in Etwatwa, hosted a Youth Summit on Human Rights Day (March 21).
Khaya Mnyanda, from the Northfield Methodist Church, shared the Word of God and inspired the children with the story of where he came from and where he is now.

Themba Gadebe, the spokesperson for the Ekurhuleni metro, also shared his background of having grown up poor and how he managed to rise above this later in life.
The organiser of the summit, Tracy Masango, said she was inspired to host it after attending a Global World Summit.
“I listened to how the speakers took their challenges and turned them into victories, and I was inspired.
“I thought this would be a good idea for the youth and that is why I invited a few people to come and speak to the youth here to inspire them.”
The John Wesley Marimba band provided entertainment.
Tracy said this was her first attempt and hopes the next summit she hosts will be bigger.
