A total of 80 disadvantaged learners started the school week wearing brand new school uniforms, which were donated to them as part of the annual Chris Dlamini Dress a Learner Programme.
The learners from 16 schools in Etwatwa received their new uniforms at a handover at the Stompie Skosana Hall on April 5.

EnviroServ Group spokesperson Makgabo van Niekerk said they believe it is important to give back to the communities in which the company operate and the places of learning where children of their employees are schooled.
“Uniforms give learners a sense of belonging to a particular school and creates an identity for the school in the community,” said Van Niekerk.
Van Niekerk added that absenteeism in schools is often attributed to a lack of school uniforms.
EnviroServ operates the Holfontein landfill in the Etwatwa area.

The company’s Dress a Learner programme has clothed 240 learners in Gauteng, KwaZulu-Natal and the Eastern Cape last year and will continue with this worthy cause throughout the year.
