Patten Road will be fixed in next financial year

The metro explained that the condition of Patten Road was caused by a burst pipe and due to the complex conditions this created, it took four weeks to repair the road.

The metro has provided comment regarding the article in last week’s City Times, “Residents fed up with state of Patten Road”.

Spokesperson Themba Gadebe said a new design to reconstruct Patten Road, in Benoni Agricultural Holdings, will be implemented in the next financial year of 2020/21, and in the meanwhile routine maintenance is scheduled until the new road is constructed.

“The Ekurhuleni Roads Department, as the caretaker of the metro’s roads, is responsible for the roadworks on Patten Road and maintenance on the road will start soon, following delays caused by recent rains,” Gadebe said.

“Residents can fill out a public liability claim form if their vehicles were damaged due to the road conditions on Patten Road.

“The forms can be obtained at the insurance section on the ground floor of the metro offices in the Sanburn Building, 68 Woburn Avenue, or by contacting 011 999 6550 or 011 999 6547.”
