The Benoni Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offence Unit (FCS) Unit under the command of Lt Col Cecil Veldman, won the first prize at the National Excellence Awards which took place on April 26 at Emperors Palace, Kempton Park.
The team has worked so hard in serving the community in 2018, which resulted for them being rated five stars in terms of their performance which is investigations, arrests and prosecution.

The unit which serves six stations Actonville, Benoni, Crystal Park, Daveyton, Putfontein and Etwatwa SAPS was awarded with a Certificate, trophy and cash.
Veldman thanked and applauded the team for their hard work and dedication.
She said this was achieved by team work and positive attitude.
“We will strive to uphold our performance, to us once a suspect is known arrest is effective immediately,” said Veldman.
