Kellogg’s enjoys breakfast with learners of Letsa Primary
Since launching the Breakfast For Better Days Programme™ in 2014, Kellogg’s has served 12.5 million breakfasts.
In light of World Hunger Day on May 28, Kellogg’s commemorated the day by sharing breakfast with the learners at Letsa Primary School in Daveyton.
Letsa Primary is one of the nine schools in Gauteng which receive breakfast as part of the Kellogg’s Breakfast For Better Days Programme™.
The Breakfast For Better Days™ initiative is endorsed by the National Department of Basic Education as it supports their National School Nutrition Programme, which is also in partnership with Food Forward South Africa for logistics.

Since launching the Breakfast For Better Days Programme™ in 2014, Kellogg’s has served 12.5 million breakfasts.
Kellogg’s serves Corn Flakes and milk for breakfast to approximately 25 000 learners at 43 schools in four provinces every school day.
This equates to 2.5 million breakfasts with 150 000kg of Kellogg’s Corn Flakes and 500 000 litres of milk a year.

Kellogg’s head of external relations Zandile Mposelwa said Kellogg’s recognises that alleviating hunger is more than food, but about enabling children’s potential.
“At Kellogg’s, we are driving growth through purpose. We are helping to create better days and alleviate hunger,” said Mposelwa.
“We aim to create three billion better days globally by the end of 2025.”
Mposelwa said principals and teachers of the schools participating in the Breakfast for Better Days Programme have reported that since the start of the programme at their schools, learner absenteeism and late-coming has reduced, while class participation has improved.
“This feedback is humbling for us because creating better days for people in need is our purpose at Kellogg’s,” she said.
