Ntsikana Primary School receives laptops

The children received lots of surprises, including a Bureau Veritas water bottle, casual backpacks, party packs, art sets and other play material.

Bureau Veritas Southern Africa, together with the Ithemba Trust, celebrated Mandela Day at Ntsikana Primary School on July 18.

Ten laptops were donated to the school, employees of Bureau Veritas donated books and Ithemba Trust provided educational material to the teachers.

The two organisations visited the school on March 8 for International Women’s Day and they said they saw that it was necessary for them to give back to the school.

Bureau Veritas Southern Africa conducted a book drive among employees to collect reading material to donate to the Ntsikana Primary School’s library. Bureau Veritas employees Nthabiseng Kutoane and Adhira Ramkissoon, Boniswa Nonkonyana (principal) and Benjamin Borotho pose for a photo.

Ntsikana Primary School deputy principal Olivia Maqhina said the school is very grateful for the donations.

“The laptops will make a huge difference as our children will learn how to be tech-savvy,” said Maqhina.

The school had two computers among 1 100 learners, but the computer laboratory now has 12.
