UPDATE: CPF member helps recover stolen handbag

Apart from some cash having been stolen, everything else, including her driver’s licence was still inside her handbag.

As reported in “Pedestrians held up for bags and phones” on page one of the August 2 edition of the City Times, two women were recently robbed of their handbags in Northmead by two suspects, one armed with a gun.

A handbag was later recovered by CPF member and deputy chair for sector two Paul Rautenbach and returned to its owner, Zenande Zwane.

“We received a call from a member of the public who said they saw suspects leave the handbag on the pavement outside their house in Farrarmere,” explained Paul.

“I had to track down the owner and after a few days we found her place of work in Northmead.”

Zenande said she was very grateful.
