SAWS warns of thunderstorms later today
All 29 fire stations’ firefighters in the metro are ready as always to respond to thunderstorm-related emergencies
South African Weather Services (SAWS) is anticipating a severe thunderstorm accompanied by possible large hail and strong gusty winds in places around Gauteng, including the Ekurhuleni area, later this afternoon (October 10).
“Disaster and Emergency Management Services (DEMS) is on high alert and would like to share the same anticipation with the residents to be vigilant and to notify emergency services when experiencing any life-threatening eventualities,” said DEMS spokesperson William Ntladi.
