Afriforum hosts visibility and crime prevention patrol

The Benoni CPF as well as Benoni SAPS, local security companies and other stakeholders were also thanked for their involvement, contribution, participation and support.

Afriforum Benoni hosted a mass patrol recently as part of the forum’s national mass patrol initiative aimed at increasing visibility and crime prevention.

The event, according to Afriforum Benoni deputy chair Ettiene de Klerk, was a resounding success with no serious incidents reported by the teams that patrolled the area on the night.

“A total of 68 patrollers in 38 vehicles logged a marathon 287 hours, and covered a combined distance of 1 939km in an effort to keep us all safe,” said de Klerk.

“The support our Afriforum team received was phenomenal.

“It was gratifying to see so many teams can come together with one common goal – to stand up against crime together.

“The Afriforum Benoni committee would like to thank everyone who participated.”
