Guards tied up during Putfontein business robbery

The robbers fled with cellphones, a TLB construction machine and two truck batteries.

Two security guards were tied up during a business robbery in Mayfield Extension Seven, Putfontein, on December 3.

Putfontein SAPS spokesperson Const Raider Ubisi said the guards were threatened by three armed men while they were sitting in the guard hut.

“They were instructed to lie down and cooperate or be killed,” said Ubisi.

“They tied the guards’ hands with cable and covered their faces with blankets.”

Ubisi said the guards managed to untie themselves and were not injured.
