CPF Santa Sweetie Drive brings joy to Sector Two communities

Santa, along with his fairy, little elves and helpers, facilitated heart-warming moments for the children to spend time with Santa, to sit on his knee and whisper their Christmas wishes to him.

Benoni CPF Sector Two, with the partnering of Sector One, visited sites in Benoni with Santa and his little helpers to hand out sweetie packs to numerous children as part of the forum’s Santa Sweetie Drive.

Areas visited by the teams were Cosmos Park, the Benoni Northern’s swimming pool, Rynfield Bunny Park, Phil Erasmus Park (Airfield), Sam Grolman Park (Farrarmere), Homestead Dam, Farrarmere Gardens, Sonop Caravan Park, Alphen Park Recreational Park and Scout Hall Park (Arrowe Park).

Stakeholders involved in the initiative were thanked for their contributions in making the day a success. Photo: supplied.

An opportunity was also given for parents and loved ones to take photos of their children with Santa.

“In previous years, the CPF selected an NPO which it would host a Christmas party for,” said PRO for CPF Sector Two and newly elected PRO for the Benoni CPF exco committee Audrey Steyn.

“This year we decided to embrace our community as a whole and bring back some Christmas joy and blessings to the children of our sector. This would also increase awareness of the Benoni CPF and its partners to the community in our sector.

“The response was fabulous; we managed to reach between 650 and 700 children in our community.

“It was the first time we’ve done a project of this nature and we would like it to become an annual event going forward.

“The look on some of the children’s faces (and even on some of the adults’) was incredible and I won’t forget it.
