The community of Putfontein Sector Two came together for the introduction of the new Community Policing Forum (CPF) members on January 11 at a plot in Blomplaas.
Mike Downey welcomed the residents and wished them a happy new year. He also encouraged everyone to have the spirit of Ubuntu and to build a strong relationship as the community of Sector Two.

He also urged residents to be familiar with their neighbours.
The new committee members are: Kevin Olivier (chairperson), Lyle Venske (deputy chairperson), Lynette Breadt (secretary), Lia Olivier (deputy secretary), Trish Venske (treasurer) and Louise Porter (patrol coordinator).
The additional members are Anne Goodman, Hilton Slabbert, Mike Downey and Lisa Kachelhoffer.
During the meeting, Ekurhuleni Central Cluster CPF chairperson Dr Reza Patel outlined the core functions of the CPF members and he also emphasised the importance of working with the police and not against them.
