Police are investigating a case of murder after a man, who is believed to be in his early 30s, was found dead on January 20.
The body was discovered in a veld near Zwakala squatter camp and Mayfield Extension Six, Putfontein, at about 10.30am.

Putfontein SAPS spokesperson Const Raider Ubisi said community members alerted the police about a man who was lying in a veld.
“When police arrived they found the man with multiple stab wounds to his upper body,” said Ubisi.
“Police also found a handbag which was partially burnt and blood trails from the street to the veld.”
Paramedics certified the man dead on scene.
The motive of the killing is unknown.
Police are appealing to members of the community to assist them in locating the family of the deceased and to come forward with any information that can lead to apprehending the suspect.
