BFS makes several arrests and recovers two vehicles

The suspects, aged between 25 and 34, will be appearing in the respective local magistrate's courts on charges of possession of drugs, possession of suspected stolen property and possession of unlicensed ammunition.

Benoni Flying Squad (BFS) officers arrested six suspects and recovered two motor vehicles and five live rounds of ammunition recently.

The officers followed up on information and arrested two suspects for possession of drugs in Barcelona, Etwatwa and Moteong Section, Tembisa, with Mandrax and nyaope being confiscated, explained BFS spokesperson WO Grant Giblin.

“In addition to this, officers responding to a complaint at Modderbee Correctional Services found a prisoner and a visitor with 25 amounts of nyaope and 25 Mandrax tablets.

“The pair was arrested and the drugs confiscated,” said Giblin.

Another two suspects were arrested in Teanong Section, Tembisa.

One was found with five unlicensed rounds of 9mm ammunition and another found with a suspected stolen television.

The two abandoned vehicles which were recovered are a black Audi A6, at Emperors Palace, Kempton Park, reported stolen in a Nelspruit case, and a Ford Courier bakkie in Mohlope Street, Tsakane, reported stolen in a Crystal Park case.

“Six bags of gold-bearing material, weighing around 25kg each, were also found on the back of the bakkie and confiscated.”
