“A few minutes later, the truck driver and his boss arrived on scene. The driver alleges that he was driving to Nelspruit with other employees when they were stopped by a white VW Golf which was flashing blue lights and a siren.”
Ubisi said after they stopped, they were approached by a man wearing a metro police reflector jacket and a brown trouser.
“He asked them a few questions, and then suddenly two other men came out of a Golf 7 with firearms and assaulted the other employees.
“They were then put on the boot of the Golf 7 and they were dropped off near the Modderbee prison.
“The hijacker drove off with the truck and they took a cellphone and an undisclosed amount of cash.
“The truck was recovered in Mayfield Extension 11.”
The police urge anyone with information that might assist in arresting these suspects to contact them on 011 845 6315 or crime stop on 08000 10111.
