Foetus found in refuse truck

Police are appealing to the community to come forward with any information that may assist in their investigation.

A foetus was found in a plastic bag inside a refuse removal truck in Mayfield Extension Five, Putfontein, at around 11am on September 2.

Putfontein SAPS spokesperson Sgt Raider Ubisi said police responded and spoke to the waste collectors on site.

“The workers explained that while they were carrying out their waste collecting for the metro they saw a foetus fall out of a plastic bag and immediately called the police,” said Ubisi.

An inquest docket was then opened at the Putfontein Police Station.

Police are appealing to the community to come forward with any information that may assist in their investigation.
