A 17-year-old girl was raped by four men on September 20 in Mayfield Extension One, Putfontein, around 2am.
Putfontein SAPS spokesperson Sgt Raider Ubisi said the girl was walking home with her brother from a local shebeen when they came across a group of men.
“One of the men threatened them with a knife and robbed the brother of his cellphone and then instructed the girl to lie down,” said Ubisi.

“The four men, wearing balaclavas, raped the girl.”
A case of rape was opened at the Putfontein Police Station.
Putfontein SAPS station commander Lt Col Wellington Mathiane urged community members to avoid walking at night, especially when they are drunk, and they must adhere to the curfew.
