St Francis learners give back to the community
The Interact Club of St Francis College, with the help of the school, was able to gather more than 100 non-perishables items recently to donate to Friends of Martin de Porres, an NPO which takes care of destitute women and children in Barcelona informal settlement, Daveyton.
Learners were asked to donate non-perishable foods and in exchange were permitted to wear traditional dress to celebrate Heritage Day. Interact members and teachers were given a tour of the community centre to learn more about the services it provides to the community, such as educating the young children of Barcelona and their regular soup kitchen.
