BFS officers make several arrests

Investigation continues in all cases.

Benoni Flying Squad (BFS) officers arrested five suspects and recovered five motor vehicles in and around Benoni.

The arrests occurred from December 4 to 6.

“Three were arrested around Kerk Street, Kempton Park, Northdene Street, Brakpan and Emangweni Section, Thembisa, after allegedly being found with drugs. Crystal methamphetamine and Mandrax were confiscated,” said BFS spokesperson WO Grant Giblin.

“One was arrested at Winnie Mandela Zone 12, Thembisa, for common assault and one in Voortrekker Road, Kempton Park, for driving under the influence of alcohol.”

Five motor vehicles were recovered abandoned:

• White Mazda BT50 at North Rand Road, Boksburg reported stolen on an Akasia case.

• White Toyota Hilux at Rabie Ridge, reported stolen on a Douglasdale case.

• Grey Audi A3 at Cloverdene Street, Crystal Park reported stolen on a Protea Glen case.

• White Toyota bakkie, stolen on a Brooklyn case.

• White Toyota Fortuner, hijacked on a Sandton case.

The suspects will appear in the local magistrate’s courts to face charges of possession of drugs, common assault and drunken driving.
