Benoni SPCA trainees advise animal lovers on how to care for their pets

Residents can also call the Benoni SPCA on 011 894 2814 for more ways you can help.

Cruelty cases are the core work of the Benoni SPCA; however, part of their work when time permits involve going on outreach programmes into the poorer areas of Benoni.

Trainee inspectors Thomas Mohlake and Sifiso Mthembu, accompanied by inspector Oageng Mosito, recently learnt the real work of becoming an inspector.

The trio went out on home inspections to check the welfare of the animals as well as educate animal owners on where there was a shortfall in animal care.

Food bowls, including food and blankets, were given to the owners to ensure the animals are fed and comfortable.

Animal lovers who are willing to help the SPCA continue doing these outreach programmes can do so by dropping blankets, dog collars or food bowls at 3 Klein Street, Lakefield.

Residents can also call the Benoni SPCA on 011 894 2814 for more ways you can help.
