Donation helps learners walk with pride

The team handed out pamphlets with safety tips on rape to the school and community members; this was to alert them about the Ekurhuleni serial rapist.

Crystal Park SAPS and Actonville SAPS officers, Victim Empowerment Centre and Youth Desk members conducted a back-to-school campaign at local schools on March 9.

The team handed out pamphlets with safety tips on rape to the school and community members; this was to alert them about the Ekurhuleni serial rapist.

The officers donated 80 pairs of school socks to the learners of Chief Albert Luthuli Primary School 2, and they donated school uniforms and shoes at Chief Albert Luthuli Primary School 1.

Crystal Parks SAPS spokesperson Sgt Lerato Mopeli said they try to give back to the learners every year, but this year due to the pandemic, they couldn’t reach many schools in the area due to fewer donations.

“However, I thank everyone who supported this project and for all the donations we’ve received,” said Mopeli.

The school management thanked both officers and the Muslim charity organisation for their effort.
