Over three days, the Benoni Flying Squad (BFS) arrested five suspects and recovered one vehicle.
“[A suspect] was arrested on the corner of Third Avenue and Fifth Street, Northmead, after allegedly being found in possession of crystal methamphetamine,” said BFS spokesperson WO Grant Giblin.
“Another suspect was arrested in Kerk Street, Kempton Park, when [officers] followed up [on] information. A large number of drugs, including Mandrax, rocks and Cat (cocaine), were confiscated on the scene.

“An off-duty officer arrested one in Vredendale, Tsakani, after a cellphone was [stolen]. The cellphone was recovered and returned to the lawful owner.”
Giblin said officers responded to a complaint of robbery and hijacking on the R24 east at Barbara off-ramp and arrested two suspects.
“Allegedly three suspects were pretending to be police and took cellphones, cash and personal documents from the complainant,” Giblin explained.
“A third suspect fled the scene in a white Toyota Corolla.”
In further policing, an abandoned gold Toyota Fortuner was recovered on the R21 south after the Engen 1-Stop reported stolen in Garsfontein.
The suspects will be appearing in local magistrate’s courts to face charges of possession of drugs, dealing in drugs and common robbery.
