Benoni Flying Squad (BFS) officers arrested two suspects and recovered drugs and two motor vehicles recently.
“At around 9am, officers received information from the community of an abandoned vehicle on Geelvink Street, Atlasville,” said BFS spokesperson WO Grant Giblin.
Upon arrival, they found a white BMW which tested positive as hijacked in a Benoni case.
“The vehicle was impounded.”
At 1pm officers on patrol at Kempton Park Taxi Rank in Pretoria Road noticed a man acting suspiciously.
“A search was conducted and in a black plastic bag, 17 matchboxes were found containing dagga. The man was arrested immediately and the drugs confiscated,” Giblin said.
“Upon receiving information at around 6pm of a white Toyota Land Cruiser hijacked in a Honeydew case, officers proceeded to the N12 highway.
“On the Daveyton off-ramp they spotted the vehicle with one person inside. The vehicle was pulled over, the suspect arrested and the vehicle impounded.”
The suspects will appear in the local magistrate’s courts to face charges of possession of drugs and possession of a hijacked motor vehicle.
