Tastebuds treated to a virtual wine tasting
Val Di Terra wines are produced by Ken Forrester, a renowned producer of fine wines in the Western Cape.
A virtual wine tasting was held on August 24 by the South African Association of Retired Persons (SAARP) for its members.
“It was a huge success,” said Pam Harvey, chairperson of SAARP.
“A massive thanks to David Langley who organised the event, as we received lots of messages saying how great the event was and that they had an enjoyable morning.”
Val Di Terra wines are produced by Ken Forrester, a renowned producer of fine wines in the Western Cape.
Via a Zoom meeting from his estate, Ken described the five wines for tasting as being Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Pinotage, Sauvignon Blanc and Rosé.
“Interestingly, Rosé used to be the choice of wine by ladies,” said Pam.
“However, it is now enjoyed by men, particularly the macho variety.
“Everyone had their favourite, but all agreed the wines were quality, crisp and balanced with a harmony between acidity, smoothness and tannins.”
According to Pam, wine can be ordered by the case (six bottles) from Doug Creswell. If anyone would like to give it a try, contact him on 081 497 9481.
