Laerskool Rynfield learner Kay-lee Lundberg is using her crowns to make a difference.

The recently crowned Rampage model of the year 2021 (seven to nine category) collected 2 600 books through a book drive she initiated and is planning on donating the educational books to school libraries and organisations that will put them to good use.

Allen, Kay-lee’s father, said that for every crown she won, she had to give back to the community and keeping to those words she had been actively involved in giving back through food drives, toy runs, school shoe drives and the recent book drive.

“Kay-lee is always willing to work for all the donations she receives.

“Recently, she stood all day at the supermarket to collect non-perishable foods for her food drive and she did not complain about being tired,” said her mother, Caroline.

She added that her daughter has always been willing to give and the look on her face when she does is priceless.

Kay-lee explained that she is most happy when she is giving to the people and animals that don’t have.

“Last year, we asked what she wanted for Christmas and all she asked for was food she could donate to the four-legged animals,” said Caroline.

Kay-lee joined pageants at the age of five. Her mother explained that they entered her into them for her to gain confidence and now she owns the stage and is completely different when she walks on the runway.

“She has always been taught that winning is not everything and the point of it all is to have fun and that it is always better to give than to receive,” she said.
