The bail application in the case of the man accused of fraudulently issuing medical certificates under the name of a doctor at whose practice he had previously worked has been postponed.
The Benoni Magistrate’s Court moved the bail hearing to November 4.
The 45-year-old was arrested on September 9 at an internet café after he was found to have issued fraudulent medical certificates.
He was found in possession of 38 blank medical certificates, a stamp, negative Covid-19 declaration forms and various other fraudulent medical documents in the name of Dr Modisane.
Eight employees of a certain company who used these fraudulent documents appeared in court on September 13 and were released on bail. They will all reappear in court alongside the accused once the trial begins.
