Time to buy a red poppy

Residents and companies who would like to get involved are welcome to contact Jessie Farmery on 076 731 3627

Blooming in harsh environments such as battlefields has earned the red poppy flower the title of being a symbol of hope and the official flower used by the SA Legions to memorialise the soldiers who fought and died during the war eras.

In light of the significance of the red poppy flower, the South African Legion Benoni Branch is calling all Benonians to paint the town red in remembrance of the fallen soldiers by donating any amount to the organisation on November 11 and 14.

All donors will receive a red poppy flower made of crepe paper.
