Remove your posters or be fined

The metro spokesperson, Zweli Dlamini, pointed out that the City will as from November 22 start removing all the remaining elections posters. The political parties whose posters would be removed will be charged R55.50 per poster.

Campaigning and elections are over and done, and now it’s time to remove all the political posters from the City’s streets.

The City of Ekurhuleni reminds political parties they have less than a week left to remove their election posters or risk being fined.

The duration for which elections posters may be displayed is prescribed in Section 43(9) of Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality Billboard and Display of Advertisements By-Law (2017).

The by-laws indicate the posters be removed 14 days after the date of the elections. That means the last day to remove their posters is November 15.
