This Easter, I want to send my warmest wishes to all the residents of the City of Ekurhuleni.
Easter is a valuable opportunity to spend time with our friends and family.
It is also a great time to reflect on the life of Jesus Christ and his acts of courage and compassion that continue to inspire millions of people across the globe.
I would also like to wish the Jewish community a peaceful and happy Passover. I wish that your home is filled with harmony and positivity.
As mayor, I have witnessed the compassion from ordinary South Africans who have come together to support families who have been displaced by the floods in the City of Durban.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the people of KwaZulu-Natal who have lost their homes and loved ones during the floods.
By following the teachings of the Bible, to love thy neighbour, we can overcome any adversity that we may face as communities.
I urge all residents to please be safe on our roads this Easter period.
Please remember to buckle up and don’t drink and drive. Our EMPD will be out in full force to conduct multiple roadblocks across the City this weekend to ensure the rules of the road are enforced.
From my family to yours, I wish you all a happy Easter.
