Christiaan Serfontein beat Brendan van Wyk 7-6 7-6 to clinch the Freedom Day tennis tournament organised by the Colen Tennis Academy at Benoni Northerns tennis courts on April 27.

The 12-year-old cruised through the round-robin phase to meet the hardworking van Wyk in a thrilling final. The two fought on the hard court and, in the end, it was Serfontein who emerged victorious to walk away with the trophy.

Ntobeko Xaba claimed third place, while Kurt Helmbold was fourth. The cheerful Hazel Roux claimed sixth place.
