Members of the Benoni Flying Squad (BFS) continue to close the net on criminals.
During weekend operations, from April 27 to May 2, members arrested 12 suspects and recovered seven abandoned vehicles.
Possession of drugs
Members arrested 10 suspects, on charges of being in possession of drugs and dealing.
Arrests were made at High, Northdene and Wenden roads in Brakpan, Emaphupheni Extension 8, Etwatwa, Madela Kufa Extension 1, Tembisa, Mayet Street, Actonville as well as Cranbourne and Elston avenues, Benoni.
Mandrax, crystal methamphetamine, nyaope and cocaine were confiscated.
Arrests
A 52-year-old man was arrested in Emaphupheni Extension 14, Etwatwa for violating a court order while another man was arrested on charges of malicious damage to property in Khageni Street, Daveyton.
Both men will appear in the Daveyton Magistrate’s Court.
Vehicles recovered
Members successfully recovered six abandoned vehicles.
A white Kia Sportage was found on the corner of Elm and Wattle roads, Petit. It was reported hijacked in an Etwatwa case.
A white Toyota Hilux was recovered in Republic Road, Ivory Park, it was reported as hijacked in Midrand.
A silver Ford Figo was found in Mnisi Street, Thembisa, it was reported as hijacked in Tembisa South.
A white Toyota Avanza was recovered in Chris Hani, it was reported as hijacked in Daveyton.
A white Ford Ranger was found in Khumalo Street, Ivory park, it was reported as stolen in Etwatwa.
A silver Audi A4 was recovered in Elephant Street, Dawn Park, it was reported as hijacked in the same area.
